dvdmon - The Lexmark S605 does not have an automatic document feeder (ADF) so multi-page scans would need to be managed by manually moving the page on the scan bed. We do offer other models which include an ADF and are SmartSolution enabled such as the Lexmark Pro805, Pro901 or Pro905. These models allow you to set a stack of papers on the ADF and scan without manually changing out pages.

I'm considering the S605 due to it's ability to scan directly to Evernote. My main question which I haven't been able to get an answer to from researching online, is, is there a document feeder that lets you put multiple pages in and the scanner will suck them in and scan them? Or do you need to manually open the scanner, put the sheet in, scan it, remove it, and put the next sheet in - for every single page? Thanks!

At least in the current Lexmark Printer Home application for my Pro200 Series printer (no touchscreen), I can make it scan to Evernote. Go to Settings and find the Scan Destinations link/feature. You'll see an Add button below a list of default apps (Acrobat & MS Paint on MS Windows). Click the add button and find the "Evernote.exe" application in your Applications folder. Then on the printer, hit the scan button and select "OK"; it will download a list of applications from your PC that it will scan to. You should see Evernote now. Scane to Evernote and voila.

With my new s605 and Scan to Evernote, the sending email step seems to take several minutes, and sometimes it works and most times it doesn't; it ends up with a failed to email message. I've tried everything, wireless, router etc... What would explain inconsistent operation ? Not local wireless netwrok traffic, must be something else ?

I'm sorry for any confusion around the capabilities of the Pro208 printer but it does not have a touchscreen and, therefore, does not have the ability to run SmartSolutions. Your printer will scan to your computer and you can upload to Evernote but this does require more steps than the one button press option through SmartSolutions.

I would love the ability to scan from my pro208 directly to evernote, but if I have to buy new hardware to do it, I can't say for sure that I will buy from Lexmark. The fact that you didn't enable the solution for a model I purchased only a year ago is a strike against Lexmark. I think Fujitsu actually made evernote available retroactively.

Hello, I also find this app fantastic. Though I could not get it to scan multiple page documents (even in PDF mode).
What could be great is to be able to tag the documents with a preset list of keywords, so that repetitive scans (rent, taxes, etc.) can be easy to browse. I think that the filename could be something like __.pdf

That would make personal / SOHO online archiving very easy.

The Prestige Pro805 has been discontinued and replaced with the Pinnacle Pro901. However, all existing products will continue to work with our SmartSolution platform. That means that you will still be able to use the existing and new SmartSolutions on all of our touchscreen products (even after they are discontinued in stores).

Shirley - When setting up the Scan to Evernote SmartSolution, you have the option between PDF and JPEG as the format for your scan. The PDF option is best for documents and will prompt you for multiple pages on the touchscreen of the printer during the scan. The JPEG option is designed for photo scanning and only scans one page at a time.

The main setting that is required for the 'Scan to Evernote' SmartSolution to work is your Evernote e-mail account must be entered during setup. This e-mail address can be found on the 'Settings' page of your Evernote account (I believe they all end in @m.evernote.com). You will also need to decide if you want your data sent as a PDF or JPEG.

A complete help file can be found by clicking the '?' at the top right of the customization screen you use when setting up the 'Scan to Evernote' solution in your online SmartSolutions account.

I also bought the S605 to have the Evernote integration. I have sent emails trying to find out the settings I need to set up the Evernote email account on the Lexmark. I know my Evernote email address, but I can't locate online, the manual, etc. what the other settings are. Just bought the S605 specifically to get the Evernote integration. It works great and simplifies my workflow a lot. I like the quality of the scanner too. You guys really need to work on the setup/configuration part though. I learned a lot more about SMTP, TCP ports and TLS authentication than I ever wanted to know to get this thing working. You could easily automate the setup, especially for most people who have webmail from one of the popular services (gmail, yahoo, etc).

One of the really handy things of using Evernote like this is that Evernote will attempt to make your handwritten notes searchable. That way when you are in Evernote and you are searching on 3Q Sales Results Evernote will bring up your hand written notes where you wrote down 3Q Sales Results. Very useful for making handwritten notes useful in the future. No more fumbling through your collection of notebooks.

When will we get a smartsolution able to scan to any NAS ? When I purchased my printer I thought, reading the ads, it would be possible. And then I finally discover you can scan over the network... only to systems where the specific drivers are installed - basically only some windows PCs. What about all the popular SANs ? is it really difficult to add a basic CIFS client on the printer, so that we could easily and quickly archive directly to a SAN volume ? I already asked directly the support they would never answer...
